Answering the question "so where are you from?" is a pause-blink-blink moment for me every single time. I'm a USMC wife with a Filipino/Okinawan background hailing from the Pacific Northwest with roots in Hawaii. Most of my adult life has been spent packing and unpacking from multiple military moves around the country and overseas. I'm a mom of three boys - enough said. Dance is my passion. And I will travel out of my way without hesitation to get really good boba tea.

I started April Wright Creative in 2012 under the name "Imago Custom Artwork." At the time, I just wanted to carve out a piece of identity that was not defined by "mom" and "Military." Every time we moved, art and writing helped me find connection in an unfamiliar place. The more I found to love, the sooner a place became a home.

I used to think I had to wait for life to slow down for me to begin telling my stories. But that never really happens, does it? I'm ready to talk story now... and I can't wait to hear yours!
