You will receive a brief recap of our discussion and recommended steps.

Find Your Foundation

You get: A deep dive into the foundational elements of your story so you can confidently write forward. The "Full Roadmap" differs from "The Page" in both depth and scope.
You will receive a detailed worksheet to help you craft your story. This worksheet is adapted from the Author Accelerator "Blueprint for a Book" by Jennie Nash. I am an Author Accelerator certified book coach and have training and experience in the Blueprint method.
We will have a 30 minute planning call and will schedule 3 deadlines for you to turn in the assignments.
After each deadline, I will take up to 5 business days to review your work and provide written feedback. We will schedule the next coaching call.
After each deadline we will have a 1 hour coaching call to discuss feedback and the next assignment.
Feedback Includes: one 30-min planning call, three 60-min coaching calls, 3 editorial letters with in-line comments.

At the deadline, you will submit up to 20 pages of writing (standard manuscript format) for my review.
After each deadline, I will take up to 8 business days to review your work and provide written feedback as an editorial letter and in-line comments.
After receiving written feedback, we will have a 1 hour coaching call to discuss feedback and the next assignment.
Feedback Includes: one 60-min coaching call, one editorial letter with in-line comments.

The Big Picture

Full Manuscript Assessment

You get: A full editorial look at your novel to answer that important question - does your story work? This assessment includes an analysis of big picture issues such as logical plot flow, character development, story structure, and themes.
We will have a 30 minute planning call to discuss your manuscript and areas you want focused feedback.
You will send me your complete manuscript in standard manuscript format.
I will take up to 15 business days to review your manuscript.
You will receive a detailed editorial letter with my feedback as well as in-line edits and comments on your first two chapters.
We will have a 60 minute coaching call to discuss your manuscript and next steps.
Feedback Includes: One 30 minute planning call, a detailed editorial letter plus additional in-line feedback on the first and final chapters, one 60 minute coaching call.
Investment: $1500 for manuscripts up to 95,000 words. Add $250 for each additional 10,000 words.

A book coach is like a personal trainer for your writing life. Of course, you can write your book on your own just like you can go to the gym solo. However, if you are looking for personalized input that targets the exact strengths and weaknesses of your particular story, a book coach is for you. Most of all, a book coach is there to be your writing bestie - someone to encourage you along the way and remind you that only you can write your story.

Depending on the coaching service, my feedback usually consists of written feedback with the option of live coaching calls. The written feedback always includes an editorial letter that highlights any big pictures issues such as logic holes, character issues, plot questions etc. The editorial letter will also include suggested next steps. I will point out recurrent grammatical mistakes, but I am not a copyeditor and will not focus on editing for grammar. Live coaching calls are conducted over Zoom where we discuss the feedback and next steps in person.

My favorite genres are historical fiction and women's fiction (book club, upmarket, literary, and commercial). I am also open to working in YA, Christian, mystery, and memoir. And anything with food writing - I'll take it! If you aren't sure about your genre, just send me a message or set up a free consultation call and we'll talk.

I would not be the right coach for you if you write children's books, horror, or erotica. If you are looking for a coach in any of these genres, I can give you the names of other Author Accelerator Certified coaches who can help you.
